Shop Spotlight: The Knitting Store

The Knitting Store, a small, quaint boutique store, located at 2 Poole Street in Oceanside, on the south shore of Long Island is very excited to be participating in the First Annual Long Island Yarn Crawl from March 19th through March 22nd. Knitters across Long Island are invited to participate and earn the chance to win some great prizes. For this event we will be open Sunday, March 22nd from 10am-4pm. So mark your calendars, begin your journey, and join us for a fun-filled fiber event!

Owners Denise Campbell and Barbara Wilenkin share their expertise and extensive experience with all of their loyal patrons who just love the friendly and helpful atmosphere The Knitting Store provides. Upon entering the store, a customer is greeted with a feeling of friendship and camaraderie where they are surrounded by a community of knitters from beginners to expert. A great feeling of accomplishment permeates as Knitters who start out as beginners knitting simple scarves, end up creating more complex garments and sweaters.

The Knitting Store proprietors, Denise and Barbara, are constantly searching for the best and more unusual yarns at the best prices. With their expertise and industry knowlege they strive to be at the forefront of what is trending in the marketplace. Although a small store, the shelves are packed with a variety of yarns, Kits, bags  and accessories like Berroco Yarn, Cascade Yarn, Sublime Yarn, Frolicking Feet Yarn, Madelinetosh Yarn, knitting needles like ChiaoGoo, Karbonz, Dreamz and much more.

At the center of The Knitting Store is a large table, and on it, lots of treats, and around it, are the community of knitters gabbing away about everything important in life. As one patron said if you need therapy, come to The Knitting Store!

We are located in the center of Oceanside where there’s lots of shopping, from large chain stores to fine boutiques. If your hungry there are numerous restaurants in the area and two great ones right across the street. And afterwards if you feel like taking a stroll, the Long Beach Boardwalk is just 15 minutes away. Please join us from March 19th through the 22nd.
