The Knitted Purl’s 1500 square foot shop is located in the charming hamlet of Oyster Bay on the North Shore of Long Island. We offer current and aspiring knitters and crocheters a comprehensive assortment of yarns, needles, notions, patterns, books, and a comfortable, cozy space to learn, share, and collaborate.
You will find your basics and your specialty fibers at The Knitted Purl . . . some of our customer favorites are Madeline Tosh, Shibui, Be Sweet, Dream in Color, Sublime, Malabrigo, Manos, Trendsetter, Prism, Freia, and up-and-coming designers and hand dyers debuting harmonious color palettes and fiber sensibilities that are sure to excite! Wool, alpaca, silk, cashmere, bamboo, cottons, angora, yak, and even brushed and spun mink fills our space designed to inspire creativity, education and a shared passion for the fiber arts.

Be Sweet Trunk Show featuring Be Sweet Bamboo, Extra Fine Boucle Mohair, Grace & Style and African Bead Ball . . .gorgeous fibers, amazing texture, super-chic color palettes and unmatched quality. Nadine Storyk Curtis is the fabulous fiber philanthropist and founder of Be Sweet. The foundation of her company lies in her desire to support the craft of those less fortunate by highlighting their creativity and the resourcefulness of her eco friendly fibers and practices. A portion of all Be Sweet sales goes to education programs in South Africa.
Springtide Cashmere Trunk Show – Michealla Waryn of Springtide Cashmere runs her families farm of Cashmere Goats in Maine, keeping the fiber manufacturing here in the USA. Due to the labor intensive and boutique nature of Springtide Cashmere they are incredibly selective about where they sell their gorgeous fiber. We are SO excited to provide Long Islanders an opportunity to see, touch and purchase the fiber they have dedicated their lives to!
