Upon entering the store, a customer is greeted with a feeling of friendship and camaraderie where they are surrounded by a community of knitters from beginners to expert. A great feeling of accomplishment permeates as Knitters who start out as beginners knitting simple scarves, end up creating more complex garments and sweaters.

Knitting has incredible health benefits and makes people feel good in just about every way. The Knitting Store is in the forefront of making those benefits a reality by providing a wonderful environment for a community of knitters to gather, knit and talk about everything important in life. As one patron said if you need therapy, come to The Knitting Store!

The Knitting Store proprietors, Denise and Barbara, are constantly searching for the best and more unusual yarns at the best prices. With their expertise and industry knowledge, they strive to be at the forefront of what is trending in the marketplace. Although a small store, the shelves are packed with a variety of yarns, kits, bags and accessories like Berroco, Sublime, Plymouth and Madelinetosh Yarns, as well as knitting needles like ChiaoGoo, Karbonz, Dreamz and much more. This will ensure that you will always find the right tool for your latest project.

We are located in the center of Oceanside where there’s lots of shopping, from large chain stores to fine boutiques. If you’re hungry there are numerous restaurants in the area and two great ones right across the street. And afterwards if you feel like taking a stroll, the Long Beach Boardwalk is just 15 minutes away. Please join us, we look forward to meeting all of the amazing Long Island Yarn Crawl participants.

We are known for our friendly help, excellent service, and a large variety of beautiful yarn and notions for knitters and crocheters.

We strive to offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere with patient and knowledgeable assistance. (such as- “OMG I dropped a stitch!”, I don’t know where I am or how to do this”, “I want to make socks”, “Teach me to knit!, and ”WTF have I done?!”) Teaching is my favorite part of this journey. The practical goal is to “support my habit” while providing an enjoyable shopping/learning experience for fiber enthusiasts like myself.

My gratitude to Cori for her support.

the trek- the following will be available to all passport
